Where the mountains meet the sea —
a private luxury retreat with panoramic views
of both the Adriatic and the Dalmatian highlands.
The Story Behind the Name
Montemar is not a name chosen lightly. It is a compound truth — monte, mountain, and mar, sea — the two forces that define this extraordinary place. Nestled in the quiet hillside village of Debeljak, just outside Zadar, the villa sits precisely at the convergence of Dalmatia's two most dramatic landscapes.
To the east, the silver-grey ridges of the Velebit mountains rise in jagged silhouette. To the west, the Adriatic Sea stretches endlessly, its turquoise shifting to deep cobalt as the sun arcs overhead. At Villa Montemar, both horizons are always visible from the same terrace.
This is a place designed for unhurried stillness. For lingering over breakfast as morning mist dissolves over the peaks. For long, slow evenings by the pool watching the sea catch fire at sunset. For feeling, in every moment, held between two magnificent worlds.
